Ronald R. Smith has been a certified scuba diver since 1983 and has dived all over the world. He is an avid underwater photographer, as his photographs demonstrate on his biography page. He is active in a local northcoast dive club, Bay Area Divers. Since 1984, he has been a co-chair for one of the largest shipwreck and scuba banquets sponsored by the dive club in the Midwest.

Along with diving, Smith enjoys boating and water skiing, snowmobiling and conservation farming. Smith is a member of the Zenobia Shrine, Toledo, Ohio, and is a member of the Jeepster's which allows him to drive his 1947 Willys Jeepster in parades in order to raise funds for the 22 Shrine Hospitals.

Smith has also been very active in Kiwanis as past President of the Kiwanis Club of Bellevue and Lt. Governer of his division.

Smith continues to be very active in his community. He is married to his wife Kathy, and has two sons, who are both married.
